Coach Mike

CEO/Director of Coaching & Development

A former professional basketball player, Michael built his legacy at the University of North Carolina, where he played from 2005 to 2009 and contributed to the Tar Heels’ 2009 NCAA Championship victory. After college, he continued his basketball journey overseas, earning an All-Star selection in his rookie season while playing in Scotland (2009–2011) and later competing professionally in London (2011–2012). His career is a testament to hard work, resilience, and success at the highest levels of the game.

Upon returning to the U.S., Michael’s mother encouraged him to think beyond his playing days and use his talents to make a difference. Taking her advice to heart, he found his purpose in training and mentoring the next generation, instilling not just basketball skills but also discipline, confidence, and a winning mentality.

Dots40 Academy isn’t just about basketball—it’s about building future leaders & winners in the game of life.

Michael Copeland Jr. launched Dots40 Academy in 2024, but his dedication to training and mentoring young athletes has been over a decade in the making.
